Disclaimer

History: This blog is the third incarnation, and started as a paper RPG & desktop gaming blog.  After starting the MMO City of Heroes days after its launch in 2004,  It developed into one dedicated to that MMO, as it remained for nearly eight years. On November 30, 2012 that MMO was shut down by the company NCSoft despite an outpouring of fan support and community outrage.  Starting In December 2012, I'm going to be opening up the focus of the blog to cover ANYTHING gaming I'm playing, be it PC, XBox 360, iPad, Dragon*Con, etc.

That being said, their will be images from various games posted on this blog.  No claim here is made to the games, and no intent to infringe on any copyrights are inferred.   Copyrights are property of the respective companies.

Meanwhile other COH related sites are moving on.   The Cape Radio has been one of the big online radio stations supporting City of Heroes and primarily the Virtue server for YEARS.  Now they have to make plans as to where to move to and what to support should the worst come, and are polling their customers to find that best fit.    Even VirtueVerse is wanting to go on even if the game doesn't...

The fight to Save City Of Heroes is ON!

A movement to save COH is starting on several avenues.

1) Multiple online Petitions.  The main one at Change.org is over 15,500 signers so far.

2) Write in campaigns -  A well coordinated one by COHTitan strives to send positive preferably hand written registered letters to the heads at NCSoft.

3) In Game protests -- Today at a rally to save the game was scheduled for 5PM Eastern time.  Objective was to fill Atlas with as many zones as possible.  When I got on at 4:40, there was already 25 FULL versions of Atlas Park.   While I waited in Zone 26, we went all the way to 31 when the Server maxed out.  The event then overflowed into FREEDOM and then other servers.     Meanwhile all the chat channels were passing information around.  Twitter was going crazy -- (Look for tags #SaveCoH and @NCSoftGames), so much so that it started trending as people tweated server counts and what they were seeing in game.  Pictures of people at the steps of City hall were seen galore.   Check out this private video (Can't embed it.)

The CoH community has always been strong, creative, and devoted.   I think the decision to close the game down by Korean executives may COST them much more in negative publicity than it will ever save them.    Meanwhile there is some buzz about some of the Paragon staff in "talks"  with someone else to save the game.
