Disclaimer

History: This blog is the third incarnation, and started as a paper RPG & desktop gaming blog.  After starting the MMO City of Heroes days after its launch in 2004,  It developed into one dedicated to that MMO, as it remained for nearly eight years. On November 30, 2012 that MMO was shut down by the company NCSoft despite an outpouring of fan support and community outrage.  Starting In December 2012, I'm going to be opening up the focus of the blog to cover ANYTHING gaming I'm playing, be it PC, XBox 360, iPad, Dragon*Con, etc.

That being said, their will be images from various games posted on this blog.  No claim here is made to the games, and no intent to infringe on any copyrights are inferred.   Copyrights are property of the respective companies.

Wild times

I'm a heavy scrapper player -- My first Level 50 character was a Martial Arts/ Regen character.  Lately though I've been getting into brutes.  Case in point is a character called Atomwave that I've played heavily up to a couple days ago.   An Energy /Energy build, he's proving a lot of fun to play.  He is by no way a farm build -- just for fun.   But he can handle a lot.   I've gotten him up to the high twenties now, got him into an SG.  Even got a lot of crafted enhancement sets on him already -- something I RARELY do on a toon that is sub 40.

Even with my altism there are some wild combinations that I've not yet tried.  I've done spike characters before - but usually regen secondaries, maybe super reflexes.   I've never tried combining it with dark armor.   I've played dark armor heroes before, but USUALLY only with dark melee.

Even early on this has some promise.  I've got the death shroud armor up, and it usually brings in a lot of opponents.  Spine bursts can usually do a number on them.   I'm thinking of the constant spine bursts that come later -- combined with the Death shroud, I could end up with a heavy aura of damage on this character.   I did make him a magical character -- gave him a moon theme -- and called him Moonspike.  It's kind of an homage to a briefly done spine character - Manaspike.  I had done a handful of covers for him, but I was never thrilled by him completely.   Moonspike seems somehow different.

He got a good start.  I gave him an almost all grey and black look.  Before I had done ANYTHING 1 person caught me and gave me 100K simply because I'd taken the time to write a background.   Then another character, Sensational Woman, commented on my costume as well, and  then invited me to her Supergroup  Original Justice, before I'd ever earned a single point of XP. I've had a couple sessions with Moonspike since, and he's up to level 15, and has gained a rank in the SG.

Looks like I've another thing to balance.  I've been wanting to get back to a non-melee character.  I've restarted a new Starmax character , which is an Energy Blaster / Electrical  character.  The FIRST character I tried to do covers of.  But I've not gotten back to him for a week or so.  A lot of characters are in groups that are dead or dying.  It looks like Double Daggers group, Super Go Force Sector 1 is coming back -- something that took me by surprise.  And I've got Flash Star as well.  And Cyber Sword.

I know -- hopeless altism....
