Disclaimer

History: This blog is the third incarnation, and started as a paper RPG & desktop gaming blog.  After starting the MMO City of Heroes days after its launch in 2004,  It developed into one dedicated to that MMO, as it remained for nearly eight years. On November 30, 2012 that MMO was shut down by the company NCSoft despite an outpouring of fan support and community outrage.  Starting In December 2012, I'm going to be opening up the focus of the blog to cover ANYTHING gaming I'm playing, be it PC, XBox 360, iPad, Dragon*Con, etc.

That being said, their will be images from various games posted on this blog.  No claim here is made to the games, and no intent to infringe on any copyrights are inferred.   Copyrights are property of the respective companies.

City's final day...

I'm in game at moment, as Flagborn.  Earlier as Killer-Whale.   Shutdown is over 8 hours away and multiple Atlas Parks are full and continuing to fill with heroes standing on the steps of Paragon City Hall holding a torchlight vigil against the impending shutdown at Midnight Pacific time today, (3am EST Dec 1st)    Hit Streak (Dev) has just showed up warning us that AP is about to get unfriendly.  Broadcast amd chat channels are going back and forth from thanks and farewells to memories to anti-NCsoft statements.  Clearly they've made NO friends with this crowd.

The tribute videos have hit youtube --- many are touching.

I've not blogged much this month -- quite frankly I've found CoH disturbing of late.   Getting into Atlas Park and seeing maybe 3 people present was unheard of months ago, but lately has been common.   Several of my toons I logged into the past week have been made defacto leaders because the original supergroup leaders are long gone.   Teaming of late has been a mixed bag --- what's the point?

That being said I did get pics of most of my toons, along with their backgrounds.  Which I hope to post soon once they've been prepared.   Of course I'll be de-Cityfying the blog over the next month.  Something I've been putting off.   I plan to be convering the MMOs I'm playing, the Video Games I'm playing, and anything else that catches my eye.   Going through my last COH screenshots I expect to have some memories to display here -- and may be a few final covers.

MMO wise I have tried Star Wars but my computer couldn't handle it well.   Its an old machine that handled CoH fine, but anything else like Diablo III caused graphic distortion issues off and on.  I hope to be getting a new PC now that City of Heroes is closing down.   I've been tempted to get Skyrim on the PC but knew my old system would never handle it.   I'm trying Champions again, but it may just be temporary.  I still don't see any teaming, and haven't found any COH SG that supposedly transferred.  The Secret World may get my attention, but I'm not going to be running multiple MMOs again at the same time for a while...   The Elder Scrolls Online has my interest since I've spent nearly 1200 hours playing Skyrim on the Xbox 360.

We shall see.   Anyone trying to get me in CO the global is @Flagborn (my first COH 50).

Just battled some elite Villians in AP33 with the rest of the crowd, and LUSCA even showed up, emerging from the ground below Atlas Statue.  The tentacles went down. but for some reason the head just didn't take any damage....
